Reasons why you should try martial arts!

Are you looking for something to train your endurance, but also want to do something to build muscle? Furthermore, do you get bored quickly during your workout? Then martial arts could be just the thing for you. It combines playful elements in a varied way, helps with fat loss and also has social benefits to offer.

1. playful training
When training, the motto is "with each other instead of against each other". As a rule, one trains with a partner who has a similar level of training and learns new techniques together. These are executed playfully rather than with force and aggression. Communication also plays an important role. This is the only way to find out whether the technique was executed correctly and effectively. Even though martial arts is not a classic team sport, the focus in training is still on togetherness.

2. effectively reduce stress
If you give your all in sports, you can escape the stress of everyday life and also enjoy a good dose of happy hormones. However, it is not that easy to find the necessary motivation and to push oneself regularly alone to the physical performance limit. Training with a partner makes this much easier in martial arts. Martial arts has other advantages when it comes to stress reduction: When running or lifting weights, you can easily lose yourself in your thoughts and everyday worries, which is unfortunately not conducive to the stress level. With martial arts, on the other hand, this is not possible. If you don't pay attention, your training partner might punch you in the face because you forgot to block the punch. You're automatically in the here and now and escape the stress of everyday life much more effectively than with other sports.

3. there is no boredom
Martial arts is one of the most varied sports. You can learn several techniques. In addition, it is necessary to adapt to different styles in each martial art. The training is correspondingly entertaining. So training doesn't get boring anytime soon! From boxing to kickboxing and ju-jitsu to capoeira - the range of courses is often very diverse and there is something for everyone.

4. you train agility and coordination
To execute the perfect kick, punch or throw, a high degree of coordination and agility is required. Through specific exercises, such as training with a boxing ball or certain punch and kick sequences, the muscle control is specifically trained by our nervous system. One automatically learns to activate and relax - i.e. the interaction - of many muscle groups. And it is precisely this interaction of the muscles - in addition to strengthened supporting muscles and an optimization of balance - that is an elementary aspect of functional fitness. This not only leads to an improved body awareness, it can also prevent injuries and have a positive effect on performance in everyday life or other sports.

5. burn up to 670 calories in one hour
Through the many varied movements of kicks, punches and throws, the pulse remains constantly high and you burn a lot of calories. An hour of classic boxing training, for example, burns a whopping 670 kcal. By comparison, jogging burns more like 400 to 500 kcal per hour, depending on your speed and body weight.

6. self-esteem and self-confidence increase
Build muscle, reduce stress, make progress and achieve success or receive positive feedback: These are all characteristics that can be found in martial arts and can indirectly boost self-esteem. And whether you're a beginner or advanced, the great thing is that everyone experiences them. Beginners notice the first physical changes directly after the first hard training sessions. Muscles appear in places where you didn't even know they existed. You no longer wheeze when climbing stairs and generally feel fitter. And the longer you train, the more progress you make in martial arts, which in turn has a positive effect on your self-esteem and self-confidence.
